If I crave pizza, Archer Farms has these pizzas made in Italy that have a very crispy crust and don't hurt so I'll eat those. The apple gorgonzola is fab.

Green apples are my enemy; I haven't tried carrots because I've heard the horror stories. Pickles and green olives are hard to pass too for some reason. Remember to eat watermelon as slowly as anything else or they will come back up too. I figured with them being mostly water I wouldn't have to watch as closely...wrong.

P.S. if you try Gushers dont even think about swallowing them after a few bites. I was regretting that decision for hours.

Tysdaddy: Oooh - I've said no to rice, pasta and bread since surgery. Hasn't been too hard to give up, either! Although I do crave a slice of pizza every so often! :)

Stay away from rice.

I used to love rice. At it all the time. But in the six years since my surgery, I have yet to eat rice and not lose it.

Someone mentioned eggs. Man I love eggs. But in *very* small amounts. Too small to really notice I ate them.

But the things we give up are small compared to losing the weight.

Congrats again.

Giveyouthemoon: I'm going to try the swordfish - it sounds fantastic! I think cheese is another one of the no-gos for me. Haven't yet named the band. Maybe bandito. Or band-ette. I'll have to get back to you on that one!

Hi, I actually like swordfish the best. It's not "fishy" if that actually makes sense. It's very dense, more like steak than fish. When done right it's SUPER tasty.

Yeah, take a pass on celery.

I was trying to think last night of other "no go" items for me over the years.

Scrambled eggs. Yeah. I can eat a VERY small amount and chew and chew but mostly, that doesn't work. Kak, as you say.

Um, the obvious breads and stuff, but that sort of goes without saying.

Onions, for some reason. Trink (my band) just isn't a fan. Also I'm sad I can eat things as spicy as I used to. I guess cuz they sit there on the stoma and make Trink mad.

speaking of...have you named your band yet? :)

Giveyouthemoon: Believe it or not, I've never had swordfish! Is it good? Does it taste like another type of fish? I can't say I'm really too sad about giving up carrots...I don't really love them - especially not cooked! And I don't see myself spending time de-stringing my celery. :)

Oh...yeah....two of my big nuh-uh foods. Can't really do fish, too flaky or something. Only swordfish which is really dense and only then when chewed REALLY well. And nuh-uh on carrots. Nope. Nada. No how.

After three years, still can't do 'em. Celery only if it's been de-stringed and cut into TINY pieces.

Hi Catherine - I was actually fine with salad as long as the veges were cut up small...I had a chop chop with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, avocado, bacon - totally fine for me.

Christina: I'll definitely remember the celery as a no-no!

BigS: Oh crap is right! I had the same reaction from an apple today. Pfft.

Laughing: I was actually ok with lettuce in the chop chop salad the other night - but even apples were not agreeable with me.

She Smiles: I definitely have learned my lesson!

Tracy: good to meet you! Just checked out your blog - thank you for sharing! I'll most definitely be following your journey, as well. :)

Jpet: Evil is right! I'm sure you're right about the asper-grass. Yes - restriction is still fantastic! And I'll post on my weight loss tonight for ya!

Rebecca: I've not even tried bread, pasta or rice yet...too scared!!!

My no-no foods are: any type of doughy bread & chicken breast unless it's SMOTHERED in a sauce. Yeah, I don't even try the carrots unless they're in a stir-fry.

Oh no. Evil carrots strike again! Since we're on the subject of evil foods, I've heard asparagus is particularly dangerous for bandsters. I haven't been brave enough to try it.

But at least you've still got good restriction, right? (ducks) Speaking of which, when do we get an update on weight loss?

I have been following your blog since before I got banded on March 24. You have been a great source of information for me. I started a blog now also to document my journey and hopefully I can be an inspiration to someone else as you are to me. Here is a link to my blog if you want to check it out: http://buildingnewtracy.blogspot.com/

Thanks!

Yep, I'm with the others. Veggies only when cooked.

I especially stay away from lettuce, cabbage and spinach. Leafy veggies (raw or especially cooked funnily enough) give me grief.

LOL!!! Oh, no. I'm sorry. I shouldn't laugh. As soon as I saw the photo of carrots, I thought: Oh crap!

Christina's right. You should stay away from anything fibrous unless it's cooked.

If it's any consolation, now you know how cats must feel in hacking up a furball.

Hope your pouch isn't too sore!

The other no-no when it comes to that stuff is celery --- too stringy apparently. I don't know if that is a forever thing or "until you adjust" thing. I did have both (cooked) but I'm also a fill virgin. I guess no raw veggie trays for bandsters!
