Finally down 25 pounds – well, I shouldn’t really say “finally” since it’s only been 48 days since my surgery and my only pre-op was 3 of those pounds. BMI has dropped from 37.5 to 33.4 which is pretty dang cool. Current weight is 204 which means pretty soon I should be in onederland! From there, it’s alllll downhill.
Work this week is insanely busy with projects and client meetings – good thing and challenging all at the same time. I will say that by the time noon rolls around I am hungry – I have been having leftover chicken from the other night and after a few bites I am full for the rest of the day. Workday that is. By dinner I’m definitely ready for food!
I’m super excited that my company now has stocked the kitchen with Crystal Light On the Go in Peach Tea flavor…they rock. Both the drink and my company! I add my benefiber to the drink and I swear you would never know it was in there. Go benefiber!

Wow! Congratulations!!!! Can’t wait to see some pics!
I am so proud of you! That is so fast. Can you tell the difference in how you even walk? You will be sleek like a cat…
Thanks for blazing the trail for us.
Hey, have you had the grape flavor crystal light? It makes me think I am sipping a grape soda. I have make it one whole week without a diet coke…who would have ever guessed I could have????
I went for a short drive today. They said to wait a week. Had to have my nails done….getting a little cabin fever.
Tomorrow back to the lab to process orders of photos….perhaps it will get my mind off my post-opt days.
Pain is better so next week I will start my exercise program.
Congrats again!
“Rock Star” Robbie
Lise, that is so awesome. I bought a scale yesterday, not a Tinita but a good one from Sam’s Club which logs your daily weight and flashes how much more that you set as your goal ,that you have to lose. Down a total of 8 pounds since preop and surgery on Friday. I went to work for a few hours yesterday. I was totally exhausted, probably from being weak and had a few dizzy spells. But today I was off and felt fantastic. Still a little sore at portsite though. I feel swollen and tight but that is a good thing. 2 cans of soup today and a protein shake and I am FULL. I should enjoy it while this feeling lasts. With such nice weather now I am going to try to walk 45 min- an hour to see if that accelerates more weight loss. I set my 1st goal to 150 so we have about the same to lose. I will let you know the outcome. Have a good week!!!!! Hey quick ???? when do u schedule a postop appt? after 2 weeks? 6 weeks? do they remove stitches? No one ever said when to schedule or maybe they did but it’s funny I don’t even remember the ride home from the surgery center. Oh I forgot to tell you that I had this really HOT male nurse anest. on the day of surgery. I just love meeting hot guys when I am wearing my cool looking cloth surgical shower cap and in a hospital gown with an open back. Life is grand.
Lise, that’s great. Congratulations. Keep well!
Congratulations! You’re doing awesome!
Lori: Thank you! I’ll post some pics tonight!
Ms Robbie: Why thank you! It is pretty speedy! I can most definitely tell the difference in how I walk, get in and out of my car, tie my shoes…you name it! I have never even heard of the grape crystal light flavor but it sounds too good to be true – I must find some and try it! Thank you for telling me about it. I don’t blame you on going to get your nails done – priorities – right!
And yes – you are a rock star!!!!
Alice: Yeahhh on buying the scale! Sounds like a much better one than I have! The port pain was the last thing to go away for me but it does. That’s fantastic that you are feeling full already. I can’t say that I did until my fils. My post-op was 1 week after my surgery. And I never had stitches – only surgical tape.
Everyone else – thank you on the congrats!
Lise,
CONGRATULATIONS GIRLFRIEND! I am so very proud of you …..Do you realize that when you lose 5 more pounds you will be under the 200 lb mark? WOO HOO To me, that would be so awesome since its been so long since I have been under 200 lbs.
My doctor’s office called me last week and told me that I had been denied by my insurance company . They are going to do an appeal letter, but my spirit has been weakened seeing how this is the second year I have tried to have surgery.
In November, 2007 I weighed 240 lbs and I now weigh 226. I have been trying so hard to be a good girl but its so difficult. My youngest son is graduating from High School in May and will be leaving for College. I am taking a college class too and my final is approaching…both really good reasons to eat!!!!
THANK YOU for this wonderful website. I look forward to coming in to work everyday to read what is going on in Seatle. AGAIN, I AM SO PROUD FOR YOU!!!!!!!
GOSH, I hate when I mis-spell a word….. I really do know that this is the correct spelling of SEATTLE!
Congratulations! That’s amazing! I heard that typically, lapbanders lose about 1-2lbs/wk so if you’ve lost that much weight so far, holy crap!
Good job!
congrats on the 25lbs!! that’s awsome, I played shopping in my closet yesterday and my 16 jeans that were tight preop, I could take them on and off without even undoing the zipper, skipped right over the 14 and slid right on into some sweet size 12’s!! very exciting for both of us it seems!!
Great Job! I am afraid to get on the scale again since my post-op appointment last week. Without any fills, I am quite hungry during the day.
BTW- Tried the cherry pomegranate crystral light, and it rocks!
Good luck on your journey. So far you have done a tremendous job. keep being positive and I will check back and keep abreast of your journey. Keep on keeping on.
I just happened upon your site! You are very funny and have done well your journey so far!! I am still going through all my prereqs…my insurance will cover the surgery. I have book marked your site and will definitely return daily
Keep up the good work!
Wow! That’s a really big achievement. Keep up the good work!
Way to go Lise!! 25 pounds woot, woot!!
So, some questions for you~
It seems that you lived on tuna salad during mushies stage, is that just tuna and mayo?
Now that you have moved beyond mushies and are now at restriction, what does your daily intake look like?
Lastly, are you exercising??
Sorry for so many questions ~ Keep up the good work!
Congrats on the 25lbs. You will be in onederland soon….I can’t wait to be there with you!!! Keep up the good work!!!
Cathy: Thank you!!! I know (about 5 more lbs and below the 200 mark) – I can’t wait!!! That really is too bad about the insurance company news…do you think maybe they deny everyone when you first submit just to try to make things hard? Did they deny you last year, as well? What is the reason for denial? Try to stay positive – I’m rooting for you in Seattle! And look at how great you’ve done in just a few months! My gosh – that’s pretty amazing. Especially with all you have going on (daughter leaving for college, you in college courses..wow)! Your day will come – I just know it!
Em: Thank you! I know that my speedy weight loss will slow down one of these days so I’m enjoying the fast loss while it lasts!
Tara: Oooh my gosh – you must be a stick by now if you are fitting into size 12! I’m still at a size 18. Can you say jealous!!! Ok – I have a whole new world of crystal light that I’ve been ignoring…time to go shopping!
Pea: Thanks! Keep on keeping on – I love it!!!!
Amy: I’m very jealous that your insurance is covering your surgery – I was self-pay…but it was worth every cent! Get ready for an amazing new life ahead of you!
Accidentalsexiness: cool name! And thank you for the kind words!
Mel: I’m actually going to write a thread to answer your questions because I’m sure others have the exact same ones – so keep them coming! I love questions!!!
That’s really awesome. Congratulations on it.
Your number there, at the end of your post, reminded me of the scout patches of my youth, designating troup number. I was troup 132.
Which is remarkably near your goal. Hope you get there (or close enough).
I swear I actually know how to spell ‘troop,’ even though I did it incorrectly twice there, in two sentences. Some professional writer I am, eh?
Thank you, Will! Yes – those are scout number patches – good eye!
