Just had dinner – shrimp cocktail and corn…don’t ask. Absolutely no problem eating it, I didn’t chew that well and I am a bit hungry still which makes me think I may need a bit of a fill so I’m going back in on Thursday. However, I don’t want to be a “fill-addict”…so I think I’ll just ask for like 0.2cc’s.

Shrimp for dinner – no problem
April 28, 2008 by lisetheloser

By far, shrimp is the easiest and best thing for me to eat. Good protein and low fat too. My bad loves it, I love it! It’s always a go to for me.
Yay!
Definitely NOT a problem for me neither!
Hey Lise,
Been so busy with work, but always take time to read your blog EVERYDAY.
I need your shoulder to cry on…..
I am a little bumed out…. It has been just two weeks since my surgery and I have been eating regular foods for several days!
I was not hungry at all for the first week then HELLO …..here comes my hunger back……
I got sick of liquids so fast and one of the ladies at the dr. office is one of my customers- she told me to just chew chew ,chew and that would “blend” most foods.
(Of course she diden’t think I would be eating like I did tonight.)
Tonight I ate BBQ! ( chicken breast, brisket and ribs. PLUS a huge roll.)
I had small portions, but feel so guilty.
My stomach – both the little one AND the big one are fine. Diden’t bother me one little bit.
Started the day just fine- Slim fast. ( Vanilla with peanut butter in it.)
Even exercised 30 min….. then veg.beef soup for lunch.
But went downhill tonight.
I have lost about 12 lbs. but I am afraid I will gain it all back if I have to wait the 30 more days to my first fill.
I go in for my 2 week post opt. visit in the morning ( Wed ) and I am going to be honest with the Dr. and tell them I need a fill sooner.
Thanks for allowing me to vent.
I promise to be better and try to stay off the meat and bread till I am suppose to.
Wish I was good like you and followed all the rules.
You inspire me.:)
(I am proud that I have not had a diet coke in over 2 weeks!)
I guess it is a lot of change in a hurry. I know it will take time to get used to this new life.
Robbie
Corn isn’t a problem? I would think it would be. That’s great!
Hi Lise,
It sounds like you are doing wonderful! Congratulations on you weight loss so far. I enjoy checking in and reading your blog. I have been having “fill” issues I guess…not felling restricted yet. I have 6 cc in a 10cc band. I’ve lost about 20 pound or so but I haven’t had a good loss in a few weeks now so I’m kind of bummed. I’m glad you did ok with the shrimp…that is my favorite & I was hoping to be able to eat it soon! ~Best Wishes Lise~
It’s me again.
My Dr. appt. went well. I have lost a total of 15 lbs since surgery. (3/16/08).
The nurse told me that I was doing fine. That I really diden’t eat as much as I “felt” that I did last night at the BBQ joint….and looking back -she is right I guess.
She encouraged me to wait for the first fill 4 more weeks while my stomach heals more and not rush to lose weight.
I can eat anything low fat / low sugar that I feel I can chew very well. She said I will know if something does not agree with me! It will be trial and error. Everyone is different. I am glad to be off soup…for now. She told me to keep up the exercise like I have been and drink 64 oz per day.
I was honest and told her I haven’t been doing well with the not drinking 30 min before and after each meal….she said that would help me not be hungry A LOT.
So ….
I am going to try to obey and hopefully I won’t gain any back until I have a fill. Keep me in your prayers!
Robbie
Hello Lise, Hi Ms. Robbie- So you fell off the full liquid soup wagon too huh? LOL Ouch still kinda tender when I laugh. I do have abs after all. They are in there. My port reminds me that it is sutured to them. I just want to say I am sooooooo inspired by both of you. We are truely blessed to be given this new life and this tool to help ensure we have a healthy future. You have made my night Ms. Robbie. Thank you!!!!
Thank YOU Alice!
I appreciate Lise for being so honest with all of us, it inspires me to be 100% “out there” too….for each other.
I forget…what day did you get banded? How much have you lost?
Hey, how are your incisions healing?
I guess I was allergic to the “super glue” they used to hold me together and I have redness and swelling all around them- (but no infection). I am using antibodic ointment and trying to keep from scratching!
Yes, I feel blessed as you say. I can’t wait to live life at a normal weight!
