Our long weekend in Langley, WA on Whidbey Island was nothing short of amazing. From the gorgeous cottage we stayed at to the long days at the dog park to the beautiful beaches and delicious restaurants. I wouldn’t have changed one single thing. For the full set of photos, click here.
The cottage where we stayed was so cute – it’s about 800 square feet and like a log cabin. It has a loft where you sleep and it’s like sleeping in a tree house – waking up to the sound of birds … and that’s it – no noise!

We went to breakfast at a local diner called Mikes. Guess which meal was mine (and I only ate half of it).

We would stop at the Whidbey Island Coffee drive-through every day before going to the dog park.

Dogs waiting while we got newspapers before going to the dog park.

Speaking of the dog park…it’s amazing. And Betty & Page had so much fun!

Note: me wearing a belt…yes – my pants would fall down without them!

Erik looking suave at the dog park.

Dinner one night…the great thing about the band is that we only ordered an appetizer and one meal – and I just had a few tastes of both and was full!

And a bunny outside the window of the flower on our table.

So the great news is that on our last day we saw this for rent sign in the window of this darling waterfront beach house and as luck would have it, we decided to rent the house for the next 2 months! I will be taking Mondays off of work and spending 3 day weekends on Whidbey Island for the next couple of months…in our own private beach house with our own private beach! How amazing is that?!?!?

Hey Lise,
Thanks for sharing the photos! Looks like a wonderful place for some R & R.
And to spend the next 2 months every WEEKEND! You go and Enjoy –
Teresa
Hey, you are in my neck of the woods for a few weekends! Have fun. My friends own the Whidbey Island coffee. I’ll tell them you commented on it. Hope the ferry isn’t too bad on Friday’s for you.
PS: Congrats on the weight loss. Just had my first fill yesterday and noticing a big difference today.
I love Langley as well! Did you visit Coupeville while you were there? Fort Casey has a great beach and perfect for kite flying. South Whidbey is one of my favorite places to go during the weekends. I can’t believe you’ll be there for months! What a dream. Have a great time.

Teresa – you are so welcome – and yes – it is my favorite place on earth!!!
Danibryt – I am soooo jealous that you live on Whidbey!!! And your friends own WIC – WOW! It’s my favorite coffee EVER – my husband and I have matching WIC travel mugs. We use them proudly in Seattle.
Ferry isn’t too bad – we end up going over pretty late on friday so we never have too much trouble. Congrats on your first fill – where were you banded?
Jamtastic4 – we visited coupeville last summer but we will most definitely go back one of these upcoming weekends. I feel like I won the lottery!
Wow, that place looks like such a wonderful place. One question, did they let you order just one egg and bacon or did you take it from your husbands plate? I am worried about going out to eat.
Alesha – yes! They let me order just one egg and bacon – they were “sides”. Don’t you worry about going out – I always just order exactly what I want and they always make it for me!
