Back from another weekend in Whidbey Island, WA

Ahhhhh - another fantastic weekend in Whidbey Island. We stayed at the wonderful waterfront cabin for the first time. It’s super cute and in the perfect location. The weather wasn’t too great…but we still have a couple of months left so fingers crossed it will brighten up soon! For the full set go here.
Here are some photos of the cabin…click to enlarge!
It just so happens that one of the partners of the agency I work at (HL2) has a house on Whidbey and he was there with his wife and two kids so Erik and I stopped by at their place for a glass of wine. Their house is GORGEOUS! It was so much fun chatting with Don and his beautiful family! Afterwards, Erik & I went to dinner at our favorite restaurant, The Fishbowl…Erik had the Fillet Minot and I had the Thai Seafood Stew…you MUST click on the full size image of the stew - it’s BEAUTIFUL.
Again, another shot of what I didn’t have any of.

One of the things I love about Whidbey is all of the second hand shops. During our last trip we got a set of vintage tins for the kitchen. So cute. I took a couple of photos of the inside of one of the stores.
And a photo of downtown Langley…including the Dog House Tavern:

The trip would not have been complete without a trip to Whidbey Coffee!

And how could I forget some photos of my family!
Before I sign off for the night, remember how Erik & I were re-doing the floor downstairs? Well, it’s complete (except for the molding) … but check it out - pretty nice, eh?

Ahhh. I feel like I’ve started the day off with a micro mini vacation. Thanks for posting those Great pics! And congrats on the cabin. Glad you are feeling better.
Since you are into state of the art design and whatnot, would you please figure out a way to transmit some of that incredible seafood stew digitally? When you do, I will be your first customer! Cheers.
Thanks for posting the pics. I’ve never heard of Whidbey Island. Looks like a “must go” place to me. I especially have to get some of that seafood stew. Seafood has always been my weakness. Thanks for sharing Lise.
Carmen! I would LOVE to transmit some of the delicious seafood stew to you…but I’m not sure how well seafood would transmit…even digitally.
Oooh my gosh - I could eat that stuff every single night!
Diz: You are so welcome. Whidbey is my favorite place on earth. It is definitely a must go place.
Looks like a wonderful little town. I wish we had something like that around here. I was just banded on Monday so I am excited to start using your excel sheet. I can’t wait to start losing and see the double chin disappear. I hope you are doing well and thank you for the wonderful post!!!!
Holly - congrats on your banding!!! I’m doing wonderful and can’t wait to hear about your progress!
Congrats to Erik for finishing up the floors. Langley looks lovely.
Thought about you this morning. It was so gorgeous out, that my beagle and I walked up to Whidbey Coffee Co. for a soy, sugar-free vanilla latte. One of these days, I am going to buy the brown and pink t-shirt/baseball cap combination from them…just waiting until I drop another size!!
Hope your weekend was great; especially since the weather was such a drastic improvement from last weekend.
Lisa
Cece - thank you - I’ll let erik know!
Lisa: we should meet up at the margarete? dog park one of these weekends! or at least at WIC! and one of these days we’ll be hot to trot in our pink t-shirts and caps!!!! by the way - i’m seriously considering biting the bullet and moving to whidbey - all i can think about is “when will i go back” every time we leave. I’m addicted!!!
